I'm also playing The Sims 2 on a laptop, I've a HP Pavilion dv6145eu with the following specifications:

  • Memory: 1GB (2 x 512 MB)
Hard Drive: 120 GB (5400 rpm)
    Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile 1.6GHz
    Graphic card: Nvidia GeForce 7200
Video Memory:  256 MB of TurboCache

I'm not really dissatisfied, but I know I ask too much of my notebook.
I've over 11 GB cc (compressed! originally it was 19 GB) and even tough I've been reorganizing and cleaning up my cc, it's still too much to handle for my laptop. The graphic card is ok, but compared to the GT8800 for desktops, it's not (but I can't have all, can I?  Wink ).
I can't upgrade my video card because it's integrated. I'm also not sure if it would be wise to do so.

I'm saving money for a new pc, and it will definitely be a desktop this time!

Good luck Speechless!
