Of topic... Dante your avatar keeps reminding me of a duck for some strange reason

That is really funny!! Because when I first saw it I thought the same thing! It must be the coloring and shape  Grin

Wow, you are doing a great job getting rid of stuff! That's so hard for me to do - there are a lot of meshes I want out of my game, but I have a hard time just taking the time to do it! Sad

I've decided to start over too because I also had something that was crashing my game, and the thought of going thru all those downloads to find it was just too over whelming for me!!

So my idea now is too just download a few things I know I'm going to use, then I'll go shopping for new downloads as needed. I think this may be fun because it will be like shopping for wallpaper, flooring, and furniture in real life when you start decorating a home.

I plan to keep my downloads at a maximum of 3 gigs and try to have more recolors than new meshes (And I love new meshes)  Grin

I love all the possibilites we have now with cc! We can make our homes look just the way we want them. I can make my RL dreams come true without costing any RL money!! Smiley

When I start decorating I usually have something in mind, but sometimes my rooms take over and go their own way! By this I mean, I start off with a certain color or style in mind, then when I'm going thru the catalog, I see something that I just know goes in this particular room, and it's not the color or style that I was originally going for! So I guess I'm really inspired by the catalogs sometimes  Grin

I love how it all comes together and that sometimes the end result is completely different then how I started, or what I had in mind.

4  Magazine Talk & General Chatter / Sims 2 Chat / Re: How Do You Organize Your Download Folder on: August 15, 2008, 12:28:14 am
That's a good system, especially the temp folder! I'm really going to utilize that one this time so I'll have a better handle on what might be a conflict that will crash my game, and get rid of stuff I really don't want.

Do you download whole sets and then delete from them things you know you won't use? That's something I always seem to forget, then I have a bunch of stuff from sets that I know I really don't like and will not use, but I hate deleting in game for fear I'll delete something that makes the objects work. Sometimes I download a whole set just for one object that I like!! But if I had a temp folder I could delete in Clean Installer before they go into the game, right.

Come on now, more ideas needed  Grin

I'm going to redo all my downloads, just throw them all out and start over! Well not really throw them out, I always keep backups!!

Why? For one thing something is crashing my game, and another thing is I just went on a 3 day downloading spree (haven't put any of it in game yet), and I want everything organized better.

I feel like I need a fresh start!! I have tried several ways already, and most work OK, but I want to get some ideas for better organization.

I would really appreciate knowing what works best for you! Maybe it will work for me  Wink

I'd forgotten about Macarossi's Pond in July - that's perfect for what I want. All I need is fish, and now I have them too!!

BIG thank you to all of you  OK

or something similar. Maybe objects like fish, waterplants, rocks, etc. that I can put together and make my own or something close to it  Wink

Thanks for any help.
