So this is me, well... my sim-me. Turned out a bit cartoonish but pretty close, I think.

I miss: shiftable objects on walls, short cute hair for women, musical instruments period, (not just a guitar. And does anybody have any idea where the piano went? lol), I also miss being able to change males facial hair in CAS. Sometimes men do like to grow out their beard.  Wink

Yeah, what happened to the piano?Huh? Oh, and you can change facial hair in the mirror, you just have to click on the facial hair tab in the hair section (I had to check it in my game just in case!)

I just found a kind of weird bug in the game... the big modern windows (the tall 1 and 3 tiles ones) pick up the color of the floor: green floor, green windowframe. Now isn't that strange???

Wow, great houses!

this is the house of a family I've been playing, there's not so many nice furniture options but I think it's turning out OK...

More furniture and build items please, and more stylish! More minimal and more plain textures would be really nice. Community lots that are real community lots, and being able to go inside the Sim's workplace and interact for real. And how about empty lots in the lot catalog?
9  Magazine Talk & General Chatter / Sims 3 chat / Re: I got the game on: June 06, 2009, 04:06:37 am
I got it yesterday and I've been playing a while, so here's my opinion if anyone is interested:  Grin

First of all I don't think it's such a giant leap as the enormous difference between Sims 1 and Sims 2, the graphics are pretty similar and gameplay is different but many improvements (like kids actually growing up) are not new. I remember when the Sims 2 came out I just couldn't go back to Sims 1, it was just too lame all of a sudden. I don't feel the same way about the Sims 2. I think those of us who like to build and create Sims and custom content will stick to the Sims 2 for a while.

I like:
- The fact that a Sim can move freely through the neighborhood, and that time goes by for the entire neighborhood, regardless if you enter a lot to play or not (well actually, you don't "enter lots" anymore, really...) I used to find it annoying that it was monday for one Sim and friday for another, and I had to write the days down to keep all my families in the same time line. I think the best idea is to maybe create a few families you like but stick to playing with just one and use the others to build relationships.
- Create a Sim is not bad, the facial features are OK but imho they all look sort of the same. I like the way you can personalize the hair and make-up colors and the voices. And I really really like the different body types.
By the way I had a very blonde moment because I set my game screen resolution to 1024x768 instead of 1680x1050 and it was all stretched out, and I kept wondering why they were all so chubby and had these round faces...
 Embarrassed

I don't like that much:
- The meshes are very limited in the catalog, most of the stuff is over-decorated or country looking, no simple counters or doors, it makes it pretty difficult to decorate, and the new pattern tool doesn't really make up for it.
- Sims can't really visit community lots or their work place, they just go there and interact with the lots as if they were objects (but I'm pretty sure that's what the EPs are going to fix).
- The game doesn't seem as creator-friendly as Sims 2, except for the pattern thing.
- The game menu is a bit confusing but maybe that's just something one has to get used to...

Oh, one thing I was nicely surprised with: I had two male Sims flirt with each other (I gave them the same traits, it was easy, haha!), and finally they got the Marriage option, not the Joined Union you had in Sims 2 for same-sex couples. I wonder if it's the same in all countries or just here because it's legal in real life? (Oh, and really I don't mean to start a discussion on this issue, I assume we all respect each other's opinions... )

As usual all the articles are great, so many inspiring ideas! The article about the Sims 3 is also very helpful. The ads give the magazine such a real feeling, I really liked the Peace + Unrest ad and the Ford one.
 OK

From what I've seen I lke the fact that you can have more different body types (not just thin or sort of thin with a big belly), and maybe the playability will be better, but I'll let you know about that when it comes out in Spain (the 7th, I think).
Otherwise I don't think the graphics are so different, not like the huge difference between the Sims 1 and 2. Probably I'll be sticking to the Sims 2 for building and decorating, at least until we have the same level of CC for the Sims 3.
Another thing that I know is going to annoy me is that right now I have a level of adultness that I won't have with the new game: no censor blur, realistic skin tones, male sims with body hair and... umm... body parts, all that.

Too bad I didn't see this earlier... I'll try to send it to you together with the text today and you just see if you can use it or not, otherwise I hope I can make it on time for a future occasion.

Well, most of my Sims are cute guys who end up living together and having a lovely home full of design furniture...  Embarrassed
I'll check it out this week-end and send you some pics.
