It reminds me of Greenwich, CT circa 1985  :-[

I love the wallpaper and that fireplace mirror combination is looking good!

Here is the house I play in... just the nurseries and bedrooms really - they are the only places that looks finished right now

Here's the dining area and the view you can see from it, in a 50s inspired house I just finished, which you can see here (http://livingsims.freesmfhosting.com/index.php/topic,1599.0/msg,15335.html). The pattern on the wall and the lampshades is one I made myself!

From the reviews I've been reading there isn't a lot to select from - furniture wise. Well I gotta say that you all have done a great job with what the game has to offer and that's saying a lot for your designing skills. I'm impressed!

Sarah - share! Give up the wallpaper girl it's beautiful. ;D

Ankuuh - I'm loving the, 'Old World' theme the bedroom possess.

Declan - Those kitchen cabinets are uber cuteness!

Laure - Great shots! Your living room is full of class. Is that mirror over the fireplace a basic in-game item or did you purchase it?

macthekat - Your children's den is so full of life! Excellent color combination.

sixtyten - 'Must have wallpaper!'  :OK:

*Ignorant moment: You can color ceilings? And is it just me, or is everyone else unable to shift positions of items on walls?

Nope we can't either shift the deco on the walls or for that matter recolour the ceiling - but I think I have read several EA staffers say "for now" then they answered those questions...

:) I love those colours

Lovely rooms Dec. I'm wondering, is everything on-grid? I mean is there a  'boolprop snapobjectstogrid false' kind of cheat? I ask because it looks like the furniture is much easier to place with Sims 3.

It's automatically instilled just by pressing Alt while moving objects. It sure beats entering that long code!

Wow, great houses!

this is the house of a family I've been playing, there's not so many nice furniture options but I think it's turning out OK...

My sister currently don't have a pc that is cable of running sims 3, really it can't really run anything reliable so she plays on my pc... I thought I would show some of her houses, so the credit goes to Kiara:

I love coming here to get ideas on decorating my sims houses. Sixtyten, I am one major fangurl of your Sims 2 uploads, and went wild on your Sims 3 lot. I tried playing a clean a clean Sunset Valley, placed your lot and ended with the Landgrabbs buying the lot. Dang it!

This is the interiors of a modern lot I have been tinkering around with. Still having a problem with managing the camera.

lewisb40,
You have done a fantastic job decorating. Your living room looks warm and cozy and I really love the last two photographs. That stone wall in the bedroom is phenomenal and photograph #3 doesn't' show that you have a problem managing the camera at all!  :OK:

Thanks alot AjOya. The camera moves around too much, plus it's hard (for me) to center my pics. I just have to get use to it.  ;D

Your welcome,  ;)
I must agree, the camera does move around a ton, I have to get use to it myself. But you know something?...The most interesting pictures are the ones that aren't centered sometimes. :) Just look at pic 3, the focal point could be the vase, but the angles coming from the sides of that picture are just fantastic. Matter of fact, that's magazine material in my eyes.

Lewis, i love the picture with the stairs on the side, it looks fantastic! Amazing degree with the angles as well, it just shows a talented photographer can really make it realistic getting the right angles and everything, good job! ;)

I got a sims living in a small house I build then sims 3 just came out, but I only moved my sims in there yesterday. She has lived there a week or so now. She makes her living writing novels, but isn't very good yet. So fare it has been mostly cheap paperbacks coming from her hand - the kind of books you gets with a magazine as a "free" gift. She loves Mexican interior design so her house is full of bright colours. I think the living room turned out pretty nicely though it still needs a lot be get the wow factor. But then you are making your living selling incects, rocks and trash novels, the income is slow coming. And I spend all her starter money on the garden (http://livingsims.freesmfhosting.com/index.php/topic,1470.0/msg,17638.html)

Oh good job everyone!!  You guys are great.  I'm getting all sorts of ideas for decorating here.  I've more or less stopped playing Sims 2 now but I still love the ideas and try to bring them into my Sims 3 game.

Lewisb, I know that problem with the camera.  I have a huge problem when doing portraits because it moves so much I have problems centering.  Also sometimes I can't get close enough.  That camera is really frustrating sometimes.
